FAIRFIELD, Conn. (December 13, 2021) — Following a deadly tornado that caused catastrophic damage to Mayfield, Kentucky over the weekend, ��һ�Թ� is providing critical emergency supplies to help children and families impacted by the destructive storm. The organization is planning to provide essential items to help impacted families continue to care for their children – including hygiene kits, calming kits, diapers, wipes and formula.  

“Children are always among the most vulnerable when disaster strikes, and our thoughts and hearts go out to children and families who have been devastated by this storm and all the tornadoes that tore through the midwest and south this weekend,” said Betsy Zorio, ��һ�Թ�’s Vice President of U.S. Programs. “��һ�Թ� is committed to helping kids in Mayfield get the support they need, both in the immediate aftermath of this storm and long-term.” 
 

��һ�Թ� has been working in Kentucky's rural communities since 1932, providing support to the most isolated and under-resourced children living in poverty. Today, the organization partners with local leaders in 14 rural counties where families face the greatest challenges, to provide early learning programs and materials to more than 31,500 Kentucky children, along with food and other resources to fight child hunger in the state.
